A CONNECTED PRACTICE

I connect the thinking
with the making.

I work where an idea needs to become clear, useful and real. My practice brings together creative leadership, writing, digital design and development, with the operational detail to see the work through.

I contribute to projects across business, hospitality, sport, professional services, travel and community initiatives. The output may be a website, a platform, a mailing programme or a set of connected digital touchpoints.

I lead by making the direction clear, connecting people and disciplines, and staying attentive to the work from the brief to delivery.

WHAT MATTERS TO ME

Clear thinking.
Considered craft.

I care about the things people notice and the things they rely on: a line that makes the message click, an interface that helps them act and a system that quietly does its job.

Good work is collaborative. My role is to connect the pieces and help the team turn an ambitious idea into a considered result.

FIELD NOTES

The thinking
behind the making.

Observations on clarity, useful systems and following an idea through.

Process

The distance between a good idea and a working thing.

+

A brief rarely arrives as a neat list of requirements. It arrives as a feeling, a frustration, a collection of references or a problem that has been growing quietly.

My first job is to turn that into something specific. Who needs to do what? What information do they need? What gets in their way? Those questions shape the words, the layout and the underlying system.

The work becomes stronger when those decisions stay connected. Copy can clarify a user journey. A directory can change the way information is collected. A shipping rule can reshape the checkout experience.

I like being involved across that whole distance: from the first conversation to the detail that makes the finished thing usable.

Systems

Useful automation begins with the boring part.

+

Before choosing a tool, look at the work. Which detail gets copied three times? Which enquiry disappears between an inbox and a spreadsheet? Which small step keeps delaying the next person?

A useful system makes that process clearer first. Then it can make it faster. A well-structured form, a dependable handover or an accurate product catalogue can matter more than an impressive demonstration.

This is how I approach automation and CRM work: define the process, understand the exceptions, build a small reliable version and improve it around real use.

Practice

The work after the website goes live.

+

The visible part of a website is only one part of the work. There are product weights, member records, email deliverability, domain settings and the next person who needs to publish something without asking for help.

Good design accounts for those realities. The system should make updates understandable, reduce avoidable mistakes and leave room for the business to change.

I stay interested in what happens after launch because that is where the original idea meets ordinary working life.
